ok so my oo this year started out really strong and won a couple turneys. but now its crap. what do i do so close to national qualifiers???? my coach says trash it but i fear if i do i wont have enough time to write another with enough strength.

To die will be any awfully big adventure

I would start by prioritizing.  Figure out what the strongest parts of your piece are, then decide what isn't working for you as well.  Instead of completely trashing it, take the time to rewrite the weakest parts, and beef it up!  If there's time, you can then move onto rewriting the stronger parts, but you're right to be worried so close to qualifiers.

Some OO'ers can thrive in those circumstances, but if you're already stressed, it's best to have the best combination of piece AND performance, rather than abandoning your OO entirely and possibly having neither.

Good luck.  I know it's not a fun situation to be in, but if you just focus on what you want to get out of your piece, it makes the journey of getting there that much easier.
