Popping is to interpers as air is to all living creatures! Interpers love to pop, and popping doesn’t exist without interpers, so the two are very happy together. However, sometimes there’s a little friction in their relationship, making it hard to pop.
Today’s Quick Tip is a trick designed to make you pop easily on any surface. So let’s get ready to pimp your shoes!
Get some wide masking tape and cut off a piece big enough to cover most of the heel of your shoe. Just trim around the edges and you’re done. This little trick has saved me so many times over the years as it allows you to pop easily on tile, carpet, lava, you name it! It should last for a while, and when it starts to peel, just pull it off and put a new piece on.
Masking tape? As in the white masking tape? That doesn’t seem like i twould work well…=/
Yes, the white/beige-ish tape works the best. Well, so long as the sticky side is attached to your heel and the non-sticky side (Technical term) is pointing away from your shoe. If you reverse that, it probably won’t help at all…since you’ll be stuck to the floor.
The only thing better than masking tape is getting wooden-soled, or wooden-heeled shoes. Those things slip on *anything.*
If you’re not sure if it’ll work for you, try it out on a pair of old shoes. It’s not for everyone, but it served me well over 4 years of competing.
